오늘은 두번째 포스팅입니다.
Korea traditional knot, Mae-deub, is handed down about 30 types.
한국의 전통 매듭은 현재 30여가지의 종류가 전해지고 있는데요.
And our ancestors imparted a special meaning to each knot.
우리 조상들은 각각의 매듭마다 특별한 의미를 부여했습니다.
Unlike macramé, eastern knot are made one by one.
SO meaning of knot masterpiece become always different according to which knot you use.
서양 매듭과 달리, 동양의 매듭은 하나 하나 만들어 지기 때문에,
어떤 장식이 들어가느냐에 따라 전체 작품의 의미가 달라집니다.
Today, we introduce some knot's meaning to use in special day with special meaning.
오늘은 그 여러가지 매듭들 중에서, 우리가 특별한 날에 특별한 의미로 사용할 수 있는
매듭 몇가지와 그 의미리를 설명해 드리고자 하니다.
Friendship, Love, and Family.
우정, 사랑, 그리고 가족입니다.
1. The knot standing for "Friendship": Dragonfly Mae-deub.
1. 우정을 나타내는 매듭: 잠자리 매듭.
In past, Dragonfly Mae-deub was used to pocket knot for man.
잠자리 매듭은 남자용 주머니 매듭으로 많이 썻던 매듭이에요.
It is made by lotus's bud and Do-rae knot.
And it feels fresh mind because of wings.
연봉매듭과 도래매듭을 이용한 잠자리매듭은
날개를 만들었기 때문에 시원한 느낌을 줍니다.
There was a male-dominated society in the past.
So I assume that mans exchange this knot because it is necessity.
And then it had become meaning 'friendship'.
옛날에는 남성 중심 사회였기 때문에
남자들끼리 서로 필요한 것들을 챙겨주면서 점점 우정을 의미하게 되지 않았나 생각합니다.
Then what about ‘Friendship’ meaning Western knot, macramé, have?

2. The knot standing for "Love": Lover's Mae-deub.
2. 사랑을 나타내는 매듭: 동심결 매듭.
Lover's knot is our project's symbol and it is in korean, Dongsimkyul Mae-deub.
저희 매듭프로젝트의 상징이기도 한 동심결 매듭입니다.
It was a hot item at the our Facebook where we uploaded 'Today's knot.'
예전에 저희 페이스북에서 진행했었던 '오늘의 매듭'의 핫 아이템이기도 했었죠.
Once upon a time, it said that a couple who loves each other exchanged this knot.
옛날에 서로 사랑하는 연인들이 '정표'로써 이 동심결 매듭을 나눠가졌답니다.
There was a episode that Jen and Nica, who we met in Bukchon, was a couple.
And when they heard this story, they exchanged our Mae-deub gift each other^^
우리가 북촌에서 만났던 Jen과 Nica커플은 저 이야기를 듣고 우리가 준 매듭선물을 서로 교환했답니다^^
It's not hard to make lover's knot.
동심결 매듭은 만드는 것이 크게 어렵지 않습니다.
So, we recommend you to give it your lover as a present:-)
그래서 남자친구, 혹은 여자친구와 서로 선물하면 좋을 것 같아요:-)

3. The knot for "Family": Butterfly Mae-deub for your parents,
and Chrysanthemum Mae-deub for your son or daughter.
3. 가족을 위한 매듭: 부모님을 위한 나비매듭과, 자녀를 위한 국화매듭.
First, Butterfly knot.
먼저, 나비매듭입니다.
Butterfly knot has various means. But you have to notice is 'wing' of butterfly.
나비매듭은 다양한 의미를 가지고 있는데요. 그 중 가장 주목할 것은 나비의 '날개'입니다.
Its wing means 'long life' because wing's shape looks like '88'.
나비의 날개의 형태가 여든여덟(88)의 형태를 닮았다고 해서 '장수'를 의미합니다.
It's very Pretty, isn't it? But it is hard to make it.
정말 이쁘죠? 하지만 만드는 것이 매우 까다롭다고 하는데요.
However, we want you to keep going, thinking your parents.
If you do so, the knot you make has the more meaning.
하지만 부모님 생각하면서 끝까지 마무리하시면 더 의미있겠죠?
Last is Chrysanthemum Mae-deub.
마지막으로, 국화매듭입니다.
Chrysanthemum Mae-deub has meaning of descendant's success.
국화매듭은 자손을 번창시키고 성공을 기원한다는 뜻을 가지고 있습니다.

It is also beautiful but it is hard, too.^^
역시 이쁘지만, 인내심이 필요한 매듭입니다^^
But go parents! For your son and daughter♡
하지만 부모님들! 자녀분들을 위해 좀만 더 화이팅하세요♡
If you give your children a knot present, they will think about you when they look at it, I believe.
만드는 것은 어렵지만, 만들고 나면 예뻐서 자녀분들이 볼때마다 부모님 생각을 할 거라고 믿습니다.
Then what about Western knot for ‘Family’, macramé, have?

Love between Lovers.
연인과 함께하는 사랑.
And, the Heart for Our Family.
그리고, 우리 가족을 위한 마음.
This is an "Affection" that Koreans share.
이 모든 것이 바로 한국인이 가지고 잇는 '정' 입니다.
